I am the founder and owner of New Horizons Training Network, where I specialize in providing comprehensive education for childbirth educators and new parent educators. With 25 years of hands-on experience working with families and 20 years dedicated to training and mentoring doulas and educators, I have a deep understanding of what families and birth workers need to thrive. My goal when teaching professionals is to inspire confidence in their ability to support families effectively. I blend compassion, intensity, and humor in my teaching style, drawing from both research and real-life stories. My passion for learning in this interconnected field has driven me to pursue numerous additional trainings and certifications, including postpartum doula training. When someone recently asked me what my favorite subject to teach was, I honestly replied, 'whichever one I am teaching at the moment.' I have been married to Brent since '92, who has graciously embraced the chaos that comes with this work. Together, we have three grown children: our son Jay, our daughter Brenna, and our bonus daughter Lindsey. I proudly identify as a crazy cat lady and a grandma to a dog. My favorite place to unwind is the beach, where you can find me with my toes in the sand, reading a book, or strolling along the surf in search of shark’s teeth. I teach the New Horizon Training Certification Curriculum and Prepare to Push (TM) advanced trainings.

Over the past 20 years, I have worked professionally in various roles within the childcare field. I’ve been an infant teacher, preschool teacher, and a director of a childcare center. Additionally, I served as a volunteer mentor mom, a director of newborn care services, a postpartum doula, and a childbirth educator. Most recently, I have taken on the role of a new parent educator and trainer for postpartum doulas and new parent educators. Regardless of the title or role, the common thread that weaves through my lifelong work is the commitment to creating meaningful relationships with people. I strive to create safe spaces where individuals can share their hopes, worries, anxieties, and dreams. Above all, I want them to feel seen and heard. The postpartum period holds a special place in my heart. When we welcomed our daughter 21 years ago, I vividly remember the emotions and questions I faced—Am I doing this “right”? Is this normal? What happens now? Alone with our baby, I wondered where everyone was. My mission is to provide support, whether personally or through my team, to ensure that other new parents do not struggle with these questions during the postpartum period. I am passionate about offering postpartum doula training and education to help guide them through this transformative time. *Teaches New Horizon Certification Curriculum

Petra Nobel lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband and two young adult sons. She brings over 35 years of experience working with families during the postpartum period. Her background as a maternity care nurse in Europe provided her with early exposure to models of care where postpartum support is an essential part of the transition to parenthood. Since moving to Canada in 1998, she has supported families as a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, maternity, infant, and child sleep consultant, and a new parent educator. Her deep understanding of newborn care, family dynamics, feeding, and sleep makes her a sought-after expert for parents and now for students aspiring to enter postpartum doula training. Her focus has always been to offer calm, consistent support that adapts to each family’s unique needs. In her work, she prioritizes respectful communication, practical skills, and evidence-based guidance. As a postpartum doula trainer, Petra draws on years of hands-on experience to help new doulas build a strong, practical foundation for their work. Her teaching approach integrates real-life examples to deepen understanding of newborn behavior, maternal recovery, and how to support families with a range of backgrounds and needs. Petra believes in preparing doulas not just to support parents, but to listen well, build trust, and help families feel seen and capable during a life-changing time. She also teaches the New Horizon Certification Curriculum as part of her role as a childbirth educator.

Hi, I’m Julianne Curtis—doula, educator, occasional short film producer, and full-time lover of coffee, birth stories, and well-timed humor. After 19 years in IT and a stint as a 911 call taker (yes, really), I made a sharp turn into the world of birth work—and never looked back. For the past 10 years, I’ve been supporting families as a Certified Labor Doula, Childbirth Educator, New Parent Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Birth and Bereavement Doula. Each certification reflects my deep commitment to providing knowledgeable, compassionate care through every stage of the parenting journey. I’m also a labor doula trainer who specializes in postpartum doula training. I founded the NoCo Doula Collective in Northern Colorado, where I lead a superstar team providing compassionate, trauma-informed, evidence-based support to growing families. In 2025, I was honored to be voted Northern Colorado’s Top Doula (and landed in the Top 3 the year before—so we’re on a streak). Outside the birth space, I produced a short film called “Be Still,” which explores the quiet strength and sorrow of perinatal loss—because all birth stories deserve to be seen and heard. When I’m not supporting new parents or teaching classes, you’ll find me traveling with my partner, wrangling our three dogs, pulling weeds in the garden (on purpose), or being thoroughly outwitted by my four grandkids. *Teaches New Horizon Certification Curriculum.

Tiffany Lawrence is a passionate and experienced full-spectrum doula, childbirth educator, lactation consultant, and new parent educator with nearly 13 years of expertise in guiding families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As the founder of Motherly Touch Childbirth Services, she is dedicated to ensuring that every family feels informed, empowered, and supported throughout their journey. Her approach is deeply rooted in both evidence-based care and cultural wisdom, creating a nurturing and holistic experience for the families she serves. Born and raised in the Bronx, Tiffany proudly embraces her Cuban-Jamaican and Indian-Jamaican heritage, which has shaped her approach to birth work. Raised with the belief that food and herbs are medicine, she integrates this philosophy into her support for birthing and postpartum families. Her journey into birth work was inspired by her own experiences as a mother. Since 2016/2017, she has been homeschooling her three teenage sons, balancing their education with her professional and entrepreneurial pursuits. Her personal experiences with birth, including an unassisted homebirth, have deepened her understanding of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the birthing process. Tiffany is passionate about helping families navigate these transitions with confidence and clarity. Beyond her work as a doula, she offers classes on childbirth, lactation, and postpartum topics, including postpartum doula training. Her teaching style is engaging, inclusive, and deeply informative, equipping families with practical knowledge and tools for a smoother transition into parenthood. She believes education is a vital part of empowerment and takes pride in making complex topics accessible and relatable. Tiffany is also a creative entrepreneur, designing birth worker apparel that celebrates the dedication of doulas and other birth professionals. As a traveling doula, she has supported families in multiple states and even internationally, expanding her impact and forming meaningful connections with diverse communities. With her unwavering commitment to family-centered care, Tiffany Lawrence continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of the families she serves.
