I am the founder and owner of New Horizons Training Network. I have 25 years of in-the-trenches experience with families and 20 years of training and mentoring doulas and educators which has allowed me to keep a pulse on what families and birth workers both need to be successful. When I teach professionals, my goal is to inspire them to support families with confidence. I teach with a combination of compassion, intensity, and humor, pulling from both research and real-life stories.
I love learning, especially in this field where everything intertwines. This has led me to pursue many additional trainings and certifications over the years. When someone asked me recently what my favorite thing to teach was, “whichever one I am teaching at the moment,” was my honest response.
I have been married since '92 to Brent who has willingly put up with the chaos that is created by this job. I have 3 grown children, a son, Jay, a daughter Brenna, and a bonus daughter Lindsey. I am a crazy cat lady and the grandma to a dog. My favorite place is the beach where you can find me with my toes in the sand reading a book, or walking the surf in search of shark’s teeth.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked professionally in different roles. I’ve been an infant teacher, preschool teacher, a director of a childcare center, a volunteer mentor mom, a director of newborn care services, a postpartum doula, labor doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator, new parent educator, and most recently a trainer
Over the past 20 years, I have worked professionally in different roles. I’ve been an infant teacher, preschool teacher, a director of a childcare center, a volunteer mentor mom, a director of newborn care services, a postpartum doula, labor doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator, new parent educator, and most recently a trainer of postpartum doulas and new parent educators. Regardless of the title or role, the common thread that weaves through my lifelong work is creating meaningful relationships with people. I strive to create safe spaces for people to share their hopes, worries, anxieties, and dreams. No matter what, I want them to be seen and heard. The postpartum period is near and dear to my heart. When we welcomed our daughter 21 years ago, I will never forget the emotions and questions I had – Am I doing this “right”? Is this normal? What happens now? I am all by myself with our baby, where is everyone? I try my very best to provide support personally or with my team to ensure that other new parents aren’t struggling with these and other questions in the postpartum period. That is my mission.

Tiffany Lawrence is a passionate and experienced full-spectrum doula, lactation consultant, and childbirth educator with nearly 13 years of expertise in guiding families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As the founder of Motherly Touch Childbirth Services, she is dedicated to ensuring that every family feels informed, empowered, and supported throughout their journey. Her approach is deeply rooted in both evidence-based care and cultural wisdom, creating a nurturing and holistic experience for the families she serves.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Tiffany proudly embraces her Cuban-Jamaican and Indian-Jamaican heritage, which has shaped her approach to birth work. She was raised with the belief that food and herbs are medicine, a philosophy she continues to integrate into her support for birthing and postpartum families. With a strong focus on holistic wellness, she blends traditional practices with modern knowledge to offer personalized and culturally competent care.
Tiffany’s journey into birth work was inspired by her own experiences as a mother. She has been homeschooling her three teenage sons since 2016/2017, balancing their education with her professional and entrepreneurial pursuits. Her personal experiences with birth, including an unassisted homebirth, have deepened her understanding of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the birthing process. She is passionate about helping families navigate these transitions with confidence and clarity.
Beyond her work as a doula, Tiffany is an educator, offering classes on childbirth, lactation, new parent education, and postpartum sex education. Her teaching style is engaging, inclusive, and deeply informative, equipping families with practical knowledge and tools for a smoother transition into parenthood. She believes education is a vital part of empowerment, and she takes pride in making complex topics accessible and relatable.
Tiffany is also a creative entrepreneur, designing birth worker apparel that celebrates the dedication of doulas and other birth professionals. As a traveling doula, she has supported families in multiple states and even internationally, expanding her impact and forming meaningful connections with diverse communities.
With her unwavering commitment to family-centered care, Tiffany Lawrence continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of the families she serves. Whether through hands-on support, education, or advocacy, her goal remains the same—to uplift, empower, and provide compassionate care that honors each family's unique journey.
